Run by Graeme Lawson a New Zealand registered physiotherapist with over 10 years of experience in the Sports and musculoskeletal injuries. Not only is it a great tool for treating injuries, pain and rehab needs, physiotherapy can also help you generate better results in the gym and reduce the risk of injury by addressing underlying strength and mobility issues.
An initial assessment with Graeme (approximately 45mins) will involve a detailed history and objective examination, initial treatment and followed by a specific treatment plan to meet the client’s needs. Graeme’s skill set and “whole body” approach will be able to help you in a number of ways, through exercise, manual therapy, dry needling and various other options.
Whether you’ve got a knee strain from a heavy squat or struggling with flexibility in that overhead position he’ll be able to help. Fundamental physio is registered with ACC, Southern Cross and welcomes private patients.

Graeme Lawson BSc Physiotherapy (HONS) MPNZ, MSPNZ, MCSP
Graeme received his degree in Physiotherapy back in 2006 from Sheffield Hallam University in the UK. It was early on that he developed an interest in biomechanics and a holistic approach to mechanical dysfunction as physio for the England Junior and U-23 Volleyball team and as a musculoskeletal physio working for the NHS. Moving to New Zealand in 2009, he worked primarily in Auckland treating a range of patients with home and work related injuries to fledgling athletes in various sports. His patients see exceptional results from a progressive blend of hands on manual therapy, education and exercise prescription.
His skill set and approach will be able to help you in a number of ways. From those with acute injuries to those with more persistent chronic pains and sports people that are interested in enhancing their performance. Mainly using exercise, manual therapy, dry needling and various other treatment options. Also providing you with the knowledge to understand what your injury is, how to help it and how to prevent it in the future.
He has played basketball at various levels for 25 years, in the UK and NZ at a national level. Over the last 3 years he has developed as a crossfitter. His understanding of the skills of each daily workout and physiotherapy knowledge will make it a smoother transition for anyone trying to get back to training from injury.
